Having proper knowledge of collection and testing protocols can increase the success of implementing and maintaining your program. We understand all aspects of administering drug and alcohol testing, and offer a complete list of resources.
See below for a complete list of lab testing resources and check out our FAQs.
Urine testing may include a two-part process—screening and confirmation. Initial screening is generally performed via immunoassay, a technique commonly used for analyzing drugs or drug classes in biological samples. If the specimen initially tests positive, a confirmation test may be performed before the laboratory reports the result.
If confirmation is ordered, we confirm the presence of drugs using analytical methods that combine chromatographic separation with mass spectrometric identification. These types of methods include gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS or GC-MS/MS) and liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC-MS or LC-MS/MS). These confirmation tests can identify compounds by their retention times and molecular structure and are recognized by courts and scientists as the definitive methods to identify and quantity drugs.
